OLIVIA AND NATE'S BIRMINGHAM WEDDING
Introduction:
This wedding holds a deep, personal significance for me; it's a tale of two dear friends, Olivia and Nate, embarking on a journey of love and togetherness. Our bond was formed during our time at the University of Southern Mississippi, where we shared countless adventures and created memories that would last a lifetime. So, when they asked me to document their wedding, it was a profound honor.

Fond Memories:
Reflecting on our memories, Olivia and I shared an amusing moment when she found it strange that I wore a suit to class (I had work later that day), leading to a friendship that grew stronger by the day. Our adventures took us to Seattle, where Olivia accompanied me to my first premiere as a composer, and I’ll always be thankful for her willingness to go with me. Olivia also holds a special place in my photography journey; she was the first person I ever photographed when I bought my camera back in 2017. Fortunately for her, my photography skills have since evolved significantly.
Recalling a moment with Nate at a club in Portland called The Boiler Room, where he accidentally knocked my drink out of my hand, turned into a funny exchange as I swiftly returned with drinks for both of us. Our late-night conversations about dreams and goals, accompanied by countless Old Fashioneds, are indelible memories for me. These memories stand alongside our shared experiences, including several 18-hour road trips to Iowa to visit Nate's family, where their warm welcome into their home has created lasting connections that go beyond mere miles and hours spent together.
Why they chose Birmingham:
Although Olivia is from Florida and Nate is from Iowa, their decision to choose Birmingham, Alabama, as the venue for their special day was a fusion of their vision. They both felt that Juniper and Paper Doll were the perfect environments for what they wanted for their wedding: a very small ceremony with family at Juniper, followed by a huge party with friends at Paper Doll.
Getting Ready:
The celebration began at The Kelly Birmingham, a chic boutique hotel adorned with natural light that painted a serene canvas for the preparation photos. Babes By Heidy worked her magic on Olivia, adorning her with a look that resonated with her elegance. The couple shared an intimate moment where they exchanged and privately read heartfelt letters to each other. After this, Olivia slipped into her stunning gown from Bella's Bridal & Formal. Soon after, we stole away for Olivia and Nate's private first look, capturing the raw emotions of Nate seeing his bride in her dress for the first time.
The Ceremony:
The ceremony unfolded at Juniper, a GORGEOUS cocktail bar nestled in the historic Forest Park district. Set amidst the unique Victorian parlor vibes and art-adorned walls, Juniper provided a cozy and sophisticated ambiance for their catered lunch. The floral arch by Boxwood and Bows in the courtyard served as a stunning backdrop, adding an extra touch of grace to the ceremony.
The Reception:
Transitioning to the reception, Paper Doll, a modern cocktail bar in downtown Birmingham, offered a sleek and stylish space for an evening filled with laughter and dance. The vibrant atmosphere, coupled with perfectly crafted drinks (I definitely had several), provided the ideal setting for celebrating the union of these two amazing friends.
